The cooperation between IWC and the Laureus Sport For Good foundation started way back in 2006. Subsequently, IWC created a yearly special limited edition piece to support the foundation. Obviously, a percentage of the proceeds from every IWC Pilot’s Watch Automatic Edition “Laureus Sport for Good” Edition will be donated to the foundation.
This is already the 15th limited edition from IWC and Laureus. Alike the other 14th before, this Pilot’s watch has special engraving on the case back. Before every launch there is a Laureus drawing competition. Kids from all over the world can participate. The children can submit their proposals and the final 3 are chosen by a jury. The public votes for the final winner. IWC will have this picture engraved on the case back for each piece.
The 2020 winner was 12 year old Melissa Mejia Castilla from Colombia with her Colombiantitos Foundation submission. You can beautifully see the drawing on the back of the latest edition.
After presenting the sand-colored Mojave pilots watches and the white ceramic pieces for the inspiration4 project, IWC is surprising us today with a navy blue ceramic case and rubber strap with textile inlay.
This special ‘Mark XVIII’ has a diameter of 41mm and a height of 11,4mm. On top of that, a water resistance of 100m! Inside the Pilots Watch Automatic Edition Laureus Sport For Good you can find the caliber 32111. This calibre has an astonishing 120hrs of power reserve!!
In addition to the typical ‘Laureus’ blue dial, the red pointed second hand is a signature for these special editions.
Surprisingly, IWC limited this special edition to only 750 individually numbered pieces. IWC has listened to their collectors which always prefer an individual number. The watch is available for purchase from today on for EUR 6.800.
