Traditionnelle Perpetual Calendar Openworked

REFFERENCE: 43172/000R-9241

Only by bringing several traditional watch crafts together could such a work of art be created. Using transparency and shimmering light to transform a complicated watch movement into an aerial ballet of pierced bridges and gear-trains is an art that Vacheron Constantin has mastered to perfection, an art requiring complementary expertise: that of the master watchmaker to create the complication, that of the master engraver to reveal the soul of the movement. The Patrimony Traditionnelle Skeleton Perpetual Calendar watch, whose 1120QPSQ calibre is stamped with the prestigious Geneva hallmark, is distinguished by the Art Nouveau motif of its beautifully finished engraving. Vacheron Constantin’s master engravers were inspired here by the natural motifs and elegant shapes of the Eiffel Tower. Another distinguishing feature of the movement is the complexity of its decoration and the sophistication of its execution, making it a major new benchmark in the world of skeleton watches. The dial was designed to provide an excellent view of the skeleton movement and perfect legibility of the perpetual calendar indications. To achieve this, Vacheron Constantin opted for a transparent sapphire dial enhanced by a silvered ring integrating the hour markers and minute-track. The Perpetual Calendar indications, transferred on the dial, consequently gained in both size and legibility. Transparency was also used with the moon phase indicator, whose two discs can be made out through the frosted glass. Ref. 43172/000R-9241 has a pink gold case.

Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle

The release date of the Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle was in 2007. The material of this watch is Pink Gold. Pink gold is a popular material for watchmakers when making fine watches with a touch of feminine finesse. The material itself is a result of gold mixed with copper and silver. It is the level of copper that determines the hue of red and pink. Pink gold is often interchangeably used with rose gold and red gold. But, these colors do indeed differ from each other. And as such, here on DailyWatch you can find and search for watches in all three different colors. In general, the material for male watches will most often be called red gold; While female watches instead will be called rose gold and pink gold. The case of the Traditionnelle Perpetual Calendar Openworked has a classic round shape. Round or circular cases are generally a display of minimalistic design. As such, a circular case can be said to be a testament of honesty, modesty, and austereness.

The caseback on the Traditionnelle Perpetual Calendar Openworked is see-through. This enables you to marvel at the fine embellishments which the watchmaker so elegantly has put on the movement, or caliber as it is also called.  The Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle is water resistant down to 30.00 m.

Dial and caliber specifications

The dial of the Traditionnelle Perpetual Calendar Openworked is of skeleton color. The hands of the watch are sticks, while the indexes are a mix between sticks and dots. The glass on the Traditionnelle Perpetual Calendar Openworked is made of sapphire, making it exceptionally strong and resistant to scratches. The choice of sapphire simultaneously adds to the elegance and luxury of the watch. Inside the Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle resides a Vacheron Constantin caliber 1120 QP SQ. The movement inside the Traditionnelle Perpetual Calendar Openworked is automatic, or self-winding as it is also called. This means you won't have to manually wind the watch, as your natural motions will provide energy to the mainspring powering the movement. In contrast, a manual watch — which is also called a handwound watch — requires you to wind the mainspring by hand at regular intervals. If you want to make sure your watch is always wound, you can take a look at our watch winders in modern design. These watch winders do not only look fashionable, but also function very reliably. Consequently, you get a 2 year warranty on any of our watch winders.

Frequency of Vacheron Constantin caliber 1120 QP SQ: 19800 bph.

Description of the movement inside Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle

This hand-wound movement bearing the Hallmark of Geneva is equipped with an oscillating weight featuring the particularly meticulous finishing that is the signature of fine watchmaking. Beating at a frequency of 2.75 Hz (19,800 vibrations per hour), it has an approximately 40-hour power reserve. Calibre 1120 QP SQ drives indications of the hours, minutes and perpetual calendar featuring the day of the week in a subdial at 9 o’clock, the date in a subdial at 3 o’clock, the month and leap year on a 48-month subdial at 12 o’clock, and the moon phase at 6 o’clock. It is hand-skeletonized. Vacheron Constantin was established in 1755.
